Dawn Blossoms Plucked at Dusk

LATITUDE Gallery is pleased to announce the group exhibition ”Dawn Blossoms Plucked at Dusk“, featuring artists Zhou Jinhua, Sun Yue, and Cheng Zhe, which will be on view from October 20 to November 24, 2024, at Bai Space Shanghai.

The exhibition title, Dawn Blossoms Plucked at Dusk, is inspired by Lu Xun’s well-known memoir, which vividly recounts his life experiences and thought development from childhood to early adulthood. Through his memories, he skillfully weaves together reflections that are both warm and insightful. The phrase refers to flowers that fell in the morning and were picked up again in the evening, symbolizing the recollection of past events and the revisiting of old memories.

This exhibition takes its name from a deep reflection on the past, conveying a reverence for cherished memories. It also subtly implies the challenge of distilling poetry and depth from everyday life amidst the rapidly changing modern world. Through diverse artistic perspectives, the exhibition explores the interwoven nature of contemporary art within both individual and collective memory. This group show offers not only a visual feast but also a cultural and intellectual dialogue, delving into the connections between personal experiences, social relationships, and the state of human life, expressed through various media and artistic languages.
